Senior Research Scholar Bernd Schaefer Quoted in Der Spiegel on North Korea's Missile Launch

CWIHP Senior Research Scholar Bernd Schaefer was quoted in an article appearing in Der Spiegel on North Korea's recent missile launch.

Cold War International History Project (CWIHP) Senior Research Scholar Dr. Bernd Schaefer was quoted in an article on North Korea's missile launch in the most recent issue of Der Spiegel, a weekly German language news maganize. The article, entitled "The next bomb: After the successful rocket launch the world has to expect further provocations from the young dictator,"  features Schaefer contextualizing North Korea's ambition to become a nuclear power as a response to the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis, "because, from the North Korean perspective, the Soviet Union retreated in the face of the U.S. and betrayed Cuba."
