Wilson Center Director, President, and CEO Jane Harman Makes Visit to South Korea
From April 23 to 25, Wilson Center President Jane Harman was in Seoul, South Korea, at the invitation of Kyungnam University, which awarded her an honorary doctorate. While there, she met with Prime Minister Kim Hwang-Sik, Chairwoman of the Saenuri Party, Park Geun-hye, and Foreign Minister Kim Sung-Hwan.
SEOUL—From April 23 to 25, Wilson Center President Jane Harman was in Seoul, South Korea, at the invitation of Kyungnam University, which awarded her an honorary doctorate. The Wilson Center has partnered with Kyungnam University since 2006 to strengthen the Center’s Korea-related programming.
On April 23, President Harman delivered the keynote remarks at a Korea Foundation Forum for an audience of more than 160 Korean policymakers and community leaders. In addition to discussing the Wilson Center’s work on the two Koreas, President Harman spoke about U.S.-ROK relations, South Korea’s growing role on the international stage, and the latest developments surrounding North Korea’s missile test. The Korea Foundation generously supports the Wilson Center’s North Korea International Documentation Project and the Asia Program.
President Harman met with Prime Minister Kim Hwang-Sik, Chairwoman of the Saenuri Party, Park Geun-hye, and Foreign Minister Kim Sung-Hwan.
