CloseCorporations: Beyond Public and Private
April 3, 2012
On this episode of dialogue, our guest is David Ciepley, Assistant Professor of Political Science with the University of Denver and a current Wilson Center Fellow. He's working on a book that will provide a new political theory for understanding the nature and role of corporations. We discuss the history of the corporation and examine how the definition and our understanding of these entities has changed over time both within the United States and around the world. We also look at current examples of the role of corporations in the electoral process in the wake of Citizens United v. Federal Elections Commission.
