This is the underlying theme of a new novel by Andrey Kurkov. – "The President's Last Love". Using irony and surrealism as his tools Kurkov has crafted a novel that filters Ukraine's story through the Life and Loves of a fictional President Sergey Pavlovich Bunin. The results are hilarious.
