The Quarterly Report: Memories of a Sudanese Child Slave

Melissa Pritchard, professor of English at Arizona State University, discusses her recent Quarterly piece “Still, God Helps You,” which tells the story of William Mawwin, a former Sudanese child slave.

On this episode of Dialogue at the Wilson Center we once again turn our focus to the Wilson Center’s flagship publication, the Wilson Quarterly with the help of its editor Steve Lagerfeld. Also joining us is author Melissa Pritchard. Melissa is a professor of English at Arizona State University.  She discusses her recent piece “Still, God Helps You,” which tells the story of  William Mawwin, a former Sudanese child slave.  Finally, Sarah Courteau, literary editor for the Wilson Quarterly, discusses her latest article entitled “Feel Free to Help Yourself,” one of a series of articles built around the theme, “The American Quest for Redemption.”
