Democracy in Mexico: Political Reform and the Vote of Mexicans Abroad
Francisco Guerrero, Electoral Councilor of the Federal Electoral Institute of Mexico (IFE), will present his book, The Vote of Mexicans Abroad: History, Reflections, and a Look toward the Future. Dr. Guerrero will also speak about current proposals for a political reform in Mexico and the evolving electoral system.
Overview
Francisco Guerrero, Electoral Councilor of the Federal Electoral Institute of Mexico (IFE), will present his book, El voto de los mexicanos en el extranjero: Antecedentes, reflexiones y una mirada hacia el futuro (The Vote of Mexicans Abroad: History, Reflections, and a Look toward the Future). Dr. Guerrero will also speak about current proposals for a political reform in Mexico and the evolving electoral system.
Dr. Guerrero was ratified by the Chamber of Deputies to serve as Electoral Councilor from August 2008 to October 2013. Dr. Guerrero has held several positions in the public sector. He served as the Director of the Social Studies and Public Opinion Center of the Chamber of Deputies, Chief of Staff of the Presidency of the Senate’s Board of Directors, and National Sub-Commissioner in the National Commission of Medical Arbitration.
