Overview
Miguel Jimenez, a Wilson Center-COMEXI scholar, will present the results of the research he has conducted while in residence at the Wilson Center. His report examines the link between Mexico’s economic performance over the last 20 years—the post-NAFTA period—and legal migration to the United States. Considering the role of migration in various economic sectors, the report examines the increase in Mexican legal migration, the dramatic decline in undocumented migration, and its implications for immigration reform in the United States.
