Overview
The practice of fact-checking politicians’ claims has grown from its initial use by a small group of American journalists to an international movement in journalism with new fact-checking ventures emerging in countries around the globe. Why has fact-checking become such an important part of journalism? How do politicians react to being corrected? How effective are fact-checkers in holding power to account? The discussion will provide insight into how fact-checking is done in practice and why fact-checking politicians, pundits, and policymakers, has recently become a global trend in online journalism.

Global Europe Program
The Global Europe Program is focused on Europe’s capabilities, and how it engages on critical global issues. We investigate European approaches to critical global issues. We examine Europe’s relations with Russia and Eurasia, China and the Indo-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa.
