Full Biography
Vicente Raimundo Nuñez-Flores is Head of the Regional Office for Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean within the European Commission Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection Office. His professional experience include deployments in conflict situations in Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine, Syria, Iran, and Lebanon, and he has responded to disasters such as the Asian Tsunami, Horn of Africa drought, and Haiti earthquake. Before joining ECHO in 2003, Nuñez-Flores worked for the Spanish NGO, Movimiento por la Paz (MPDL), from 1997 to 2002 in the Balkans and Middle East. Prior to his time at MPDL, he taught journalism at Universidad Francisco Marroquín in Guatemala. He has a B.S. in Journalism from the Universidad San Pablo in Madrid and has completed a High Course on International Cooperation and NGO management.
