Gwen K. Young Among 100 Most Influential People in Gender Policy
Gwen K. Young, Director of the Global Women's Leadership Initiative and Women in Public Service Project at the Wilson Center, is recognized as one of the leading voices in global gender policy today as Apolitical announced its inaugural list of the world's 100 Most Influential People in Gender Policy in 2018.

Young, Director of the Global Women's Leadership Initiative and Women in Public Service Project at the Wilson Center, is recognized as one of the leading voices in global gender policy today as Apolitcal announced its inaugural list of the world's 100 Most Influential People in Gender Policy in 2018.
According to Apolitical, "the list honors and celebrates women and men making the world more equitable, whether they exert their influence through policymaking, research, advocacy or however else."
Young is listed among honorees including Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, Malala Yousafzai, Marlène Schiappa, Katja Iversen, Amina Mohammed, Julia Gillard, Margot Wallström, Justin Trudeau, Caren Grown, Melinda Gates, Michelle Bachelet, Geeta Rao Gupta, Marian Baird, Åsa Regnér, Sadiq Khan, Iris Bohnet, Sarah Degnan Kambou, Maryam Monsef and Gary Barker.
"I am honored to be included among some of the world's greatest advocates for gender equality. Together, we can bring gender equality to the forefront of policy discussions that will make substantive progress toward a more equal world," said Young.
In addition to leading the Women in Public Service Project, Young has advocated for and published on the role girls and women play in political, social and economic development. She has trained women in advocacy skills, how to build a network, and management skills. She has also worked “on the ground” with private sector and public service actors on issues of women’s entrepreneurship including tools to ensure access to finance.
