Holiday Message from the Office of the Director, President & CEO

For an institution like the Wilson Center, the holiday season is the perfect time to reflect on the last year, celebrate our success, and plan for the future. We take pride in the impact of our collective efforts on the lives of millions of people around the world, who are the ultimate beneficiaries of the critical policy discussions and actionable ideas that emanate out of the Wilson Center.

Dear Friends:

For an institution like the Wilson Center, the holiday season is the perfect time to reflect on the last year, celebrate our success, and plan for the future. We take pride in the impact of our collective efforts on the lives of millions of people around the world, who are the ultimate beneficiaries of the critical policy discussions and actionable ideas that emanate out of the Wilson Center.

This has been quite an extraordinary year for us. We welcomed over 5,000 visitors; hosted world leaders from Somalia, Israel, Egypt, the European Union, Mexico and South Korea, former Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton; celebrated the 100th anniversary of President Woodrow Wilson’s inauguration; and implemented the first stage of our ambitious strategic plan. Our scholars and experts covered everything from the crisis in Syria to Germany’s elections, relations with Russia, and immigration. We held meetings on cybersecurity, the Authorization for the Use of Military Force, food security, and the ongoing unrest in the Middle East.

The importance of the Wilson Center’s work – serving as a trusted platform, framing issues, and producing actionable ideas – is highly regarded by the 21st century foreign policy community. As donors and friends alike, we count on your support to help us identify the possible solutions to the complex challenges of our global community. We rely on you to help us frame issues and achieve a future that is safe and secure.

Your support in 2013 is critical to our success, and we hope you will consider an additional year-end gift.

Wishing you and your families a very happy holiday season!
