The EU and the U.S.

July 9, 2011

The Honorable John Bruton, Ambassador of the European Union to the United States and Dr. Samuel Wells, Wilson Center Associate Director and Director of the West European Studies program.

The 25 member nations of the European Union have become a major influence in world affairs. Achieving partnership is not always easy with major differences over issues like the Iraq war as impediments. But the European Union has specifically charged its American mission with advancing the relationship. EU Ambassador John Bruton and WWC Associate Director Sam Wells explain the effort's progress.
