Speaker: Raphael Cohen-Almagor, Chair and Professor of Politics, University of Hull, The United Kingdom and currently a Woodrow Wilson Center Fellow
Israel was established as a Jewish democracy. Dr. Cohen-Almagor will probe Israel's relationships with its neighbors, proposing splitting of the land, ending the occupation, and a two-state solution. He will discuss the need for accommodating the interests of the Israeli-Palestinians, striving to safeguard equal rights and liberties for all citizens notwithstanding nationality, religion, race or color, and insisting that citizens have also duties to fulfill. He will also explore the relationship between state and religion, and will discuss the existing economic concerns in Israel.
