Leon Trotsky and the Chinese Revolution (the History of the Trotskyist Movement in China)
Project Summary
Researches the essential character of Trotskyism, following the history of its formation through 1917. Evaluates Trotskyism after the October Revolution and during the organization of Comintern. Follows the formation and development of Trotsky’s ideas on the question of the Chinese Revolution and the Stalin/Trotsky split in the Comintern. Notes the evolution of Trotsky’s concept of the Chinese Revolution throughout the 1930s and provides a history of training Chinese Communist revolutionary cadres during the 20s in the USSR.
