Alpaslan Özerdem is a professor of peace and conflict studies and dean of the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution at George Mason University. His research focuses on postconflict reconstruction and peacebuilding, with a specific reference to security rebuilding and reintegration of ex-combatants. Dr. Özerdem has published extensively and, among others, he is the co-editor of Comparing Peace Processes and the Routledge Handbook on Peace, Security, and Development.
