Barbara Vasconcelos Cimatti was born in Boston, but grew up in Brazil for most of her life. In Brazil, she lived in the states of Paraná, Bahia, and São Paulo. In 2018, Barbara got her bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Interactive Media with a minor in International Affairs from Northeastern University (Boston). While in Boston, she served an an AmeriCorps volunteer and found her passion for service and education.
After graduation, Barbara taught English privately in Thailand and as a volunteer in Peace Corps Ecuador. She was evacuated from Ecuador due to COVID-19 in early 2020, and later completed her studies with a masters degree in International Relations at Syracuse University.
