Deokhyo Choi is a lecturer (assistant professor) in Korean Studies at the University of Sheffield and specializes in the history of US-Japan-Korea relations.
Full Biography
Deokhyo Choi is a lecturer (assistant professor) in Korean Studies at the University of Sheffield. Before joining the University of Sheffield in July 2018, he worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Cambridge and the Research Institute of Korean Studies, Korea University. He received his Ph.D. in History from Cornell University, and his dissertation won the ICAS Best Dissertation Prize. He has published numerous articles in three languages (English, Japanese, and Korean) and is currently completing his first monograph, tentatively titled The Postcolonial Aporia: The Korean Minority Question between US-Occupied Japan and Korea, 1945-1952.
