Dr. Ramzi Abou Ismail is a social and political psychologist and quantitative researcher. His research focuses on the psychology of collective violence, social identity, and intergroup conflict, particularly in the MENA region. He has developed innovative scales and models to better understand how beliefs about violence are formed and how they influence behavior, with specific attention to authoritarianism, social dominance, and collective narcissism.
Dr. Abou Ismail’s work also extends into socio-economic development and philanthropy, where he examines the intersection of social identity, community vulnerabilities, and charitable giving in the MENA region. He has contributed to policy projects and social initiatives with institutions such as the Lebanese Center for Policy Studies (LCPS), Zovighian Partnership (ZP), and Zovighian Public Office (ZPO).
A psychometrician and statistician, Dr. Abou Ismail lectures and masterclasses on psychology, as well as advanced and quantitative research methods at institutions, including the University of Kent and the University of Northampton. He is also a columnist at NOW Lebanon.
