Full Biography
Drew joined the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung in 2023 to run the Digital Policy Program. The program promotes a transatlantic dialogue on the digital transformation of our economies and societies. It works to advance norms and standards for digital governance to ensure that the use of digital technologies supports economic growth and innovation without harm to people or the environment.
Drew is a lawyer with a background in human rights-activism and with expertise on privacy, cybersecurity, and freedom of expression. He has worked with technologists, campaigners, and lawyers to protect users against the threats to human rights from digital technology. Drew began his career working on human rights in Asia and on a class action case in support of African gold mine workers. He currently volunteers in DC family court representing children as a guardian ad litem.
