Expert Bio
Flavia Gasbarri holds a PhD in War Studies from King's College London, where she is currently Teaching Fellow and co-Chair of the KCL Africa Research Group. In April-September 2012, she was Junior Visiting Scholar at the Woodrow Wilson Center. Her doctoral project was entitled "The United States and the end of the Cold War in Africa, 1988-1994" and her research interests focus on the history of the Cold War in the Third World, US-Africa relations, and post-Cold War US foreign policy. She has also researched and published on US policy in the Rwandan genocide and in the Great Lakes region.
