Expert Bio

Dr Gabriela Roldan is a researcher at Gateway Antarctica at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand. Her research focuses on governance and geopolitics of Antarctica and the Southern Ocean, gateway cities and polar identities, and Antarctic tourism. Gabriela is an advocate and works towards the popularization of Antarctic education. She is also a member of the Advisory Committee on Capacity Building, Education and Training of the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR), and is a lead of the SCAR Antarctic Tourism Action Group (Ant-TAG).
