Holly Sarkissian is a former intern for the Wilson Center's Environmental Change and Security Program, supporting the award-winning blog, New Security Beat, and the Wilson Center’s Green Team. She is a master's candidate in Global Policy Studies at the University of Texas, Austin's LBJ School focusing on Environmental and Climate Security.
Holly has extensive experience working for international NGOs, managing projects to promote global peace and security, justice, sustainable development, rule of law and human rights. The organizations she has worked with include the NYU Center on International Cooperation, Parliamentarians for Global Action, Kiva, and the Consortium on Gender, Security, and Human Rights. She is interested in global strategies to advance environmental security, adaption, and mitigation and to protect vulnerable populations.
