Full Biography
Marian Zulean is a professor at the University of Bucharest, Romania. He was a Coordinator of the Social Science Dept. at the Institute for Advanced Research (ICUB), a co-director of the Black Sea Area Program, a former junior adviser on IR and national security (Office of the President: 2001-2006). Dr. Zulean is member of such professional associations as Information Systems for Crisis Response and Management (ISCRAM), Inter-University Seminar on Armed Forces and Society and a member of the Editorial Board of the Annual Review of Political and Military Sociology. He has a doctorate in Sociology (University of Bucharest) and an MPIA from GSPIA/University of Pittsburgh (2000). He published extensively on civil-military relations, security studies and public policy. His latest publication is the co-edited book “Social Values and Identities in the Black Sea Region”, published by Lexington Books.
