Mayra Iglesias is from Buenos Aires, Argentina and a Senior at George Washington University. She is studying International Affairs with a concentration in International Economics and a regional focus in Latin America. Her two main interests are transparency in rule of law and infrastructure development, focusing on the impact of the Belt and Road Initiative in Latin America. She has previously worked as a policy intern at the Council of the Americas (COA). At the COA, she conducted research on Latin America's energy development, health, and trade policies. She contributed to organizing the COA's and Young Professionals of the America’s events in the D.C. area. In the future she hopes to get a M.A in International Development.
