Expert Bio
Mona Tajali is a scholar of gender and politics in Muslim countries, with a focus on Iran, Turkey, and Afghanistan. She is the author of Women’s Political Representation in Iran and Turkey: Demanding a Seat at the Table (EUP, 2022). She also directors the multi-sited Women and Politics project of the transnational solidarity network, Women Living Under Muslim Laws (WLUML). She is an associate professor of international relations at Agnes Scott College and currently a visiting scholar at Stanford University, researching institutionalization of women’s rights in Muslim contexts.
