Pedro Abrantes Martins is a Bachelor’s degree candidate at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) in Curitiba, Brazil. He has previously interned at the lower house of the Brazilian Congress. In 2019, he received a fellowship by the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) in order to conduct research on democratic erosion in Latin America. Pedro has also worked with refugees in Brazil and abroad as a volunteer at the Danish Red Cross and the Migratory Policy and Brazilian University Program (linked to the UNHCR). He has contributed to events, journals, and blogs in Brazil and abroad. His interests include public law, human rights, and democratic theory.
