Working on a biography of former Secretary of State James A. Baker III, from his upbringing as part of Houston's aristocracy to his life in the political trenches running five presidential campaigns to his time as the nation's top diplomat managing the end of the Cold War, the reunification of Germany and the prosecution of the Gulf War.
