Dr. Soyoung Kim received her MA and PhD in Bulgarian linguistics at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. Since 2005, she has served as a Visiting Associate Professor at the Department of Korean Studies, Center for Eastern Languages & Cultures of Sofia University. In 2011, Dr. Soyyoung Kim was appointed as an Overseas Member of the National Unification Advisory Council of Korea.
In the last decade, Dr. Soyoung Kim has published as co-author several books and articles in Bulgarian, Korean, and English on 20th century Korean history and Bulgarian-Korean relations.
