Full Biography
Stefan Lukas is the founder and CEO of Middle East Minds, a MENA-focused consultancy headquartered in Berlin. Stefan is also a guest lecturer at the German Armed Forces Command and Staff College in Hamburg. He regularly lectures at universities on the security policy of the Middle East, most recently at the Chair for International War and Conflict Studies at the University of Potsdam. After studying at the universities of Rostock and Greifswald, he worked as a seminar assistant at the Federal Academy for Security Policy in Berlin. Since 2020, he has also been an advisor at the Society for Security Policy in Berlin and advises ministries, companies, foundations and other institutions on the situation in the Middle East.
As part of delegation and study trips, he regularly travels to the region and takes part in international conferences. His publishing activities include the development of books, studies, papers and newspaper articles for German and international newspapers and institutions. Together with Bastian Matteo Scianna, he published the anthology “The Middle East in a Globalized World” in May 2024.
