Tania El Kallab is a seasoned economist and academic, serving as the Advisor to the President of the Lebanese Republic for International Economic Cooperation, where she oversees Lebanon’s international economic relations, particularly engagements with the IMF and other global financial institutions. She is also the Founder and CEO of Konsilyum Economic Advisory Company, leveraging her expertise in institutional and political economy, economic history, international economics, and development economics. Previously, she served as an Economic Advisor at the U.S. Embassy in Beirut (2022-2025), leading economic analysis on macroeconomic policy, banking and financial markets, public debt, fiscal and monetary policy, and international financial assistance. Under her portfolio she worked for MENA FATF compliance, anti-corruption reforms, and bank restructuring efforts. She was an Assistant Professor of Economics (2015-2021) and remains a faculty member at the Lebanese American University and at ESA Business School and LAU. She has extensive teaching experience in microeconomics, macroeconomics, international trade, and political economy and has published research on institutional quality, economic performance, and trade history in leading economic journals. Tania holds a Ph.D. in Economics from ESSEC Business School and Université Cergy-Pontoise, and a Public Policy Analysis Certificate at the London School of Economics (2024).
