Lara Iglitzin, Executive Director of the Henry M. Jackson Foundation, provided the perspective of a small foundation supporting human rights in Russia today. Iglitzin discussed the direction of civil society and NGOs in the new Putin presidency. What have been the key factors driving the Kremlin since Putin’s re-election? How have the NGO sector and democratic voices been impacted? What is the current state of Russia's civil society and what are its prospects? How will Western foundations respond to the latest challenges to sustaining the sector?
