Expert Bio

Jean Meyer is a Mexican historian of French origin, who has studied Soviet and Russian history since 1987. In addition to publishing extensively on the Cristero War and on Manuel Lozada, he is the author of "Russia and its Empires." He is a recipient of the Guggenheim Fellowship for Humanities, Latin America & Caribbean. He hold bachelor's and master's degrees at the Sorbonne University. He has taught at Sorbonne, Perpignan, the University of Paris, the Colegio de México, the Colegio de Michoacán, and the Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas.
