Levi Vonk

Levi Vonk is a writer, anthropologist, and the Guerrant Professor of Global Health Equity at the University of Virginia. A two-time Fulbright fellow to Mexico, he conducts ethnographic fieldwork with Central American migrants in order to document a discreet border externalization pact between the US and Mexico known as the Southern Border Program. His first book, Border Hacker, was a national finalist for the 2023 Chautauqua Prize and the 2023 Juan E. Mendez Book Award at Duke University, among others.
