Expert Bio

Olli-Matti Mikkola holds a PH.D. in Russian language from the University of Turku, Finland. His research focuses on Russian Military and Security policy issues and Intelligence studies. He has served several years in different governmental positions in Finland. At the moment he serves as a Senior Analyst in the Finnish Defence Forces. In 2019-2021, he worked at the Finnish Embassy in Kyiv as an assistant to the Defense Attaché.

Project Summary

The project plan is to study Russian decision-making in international politics. The goal is to create understanding on the logic and methods of how Russian foreign policy and international relations are affected by power ministries and other actors.
