Tyler Kirk is Associate Professor and the Arthur T. Fathauer Chair in History at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. He is also author of a forthcoming book on the Memorial movement and the legacy of Stalinist repression in Russia’s Komi Republic, Remembering the Gulag: A History of Memory in Russia’s Far North (Indiana University Press, December 2023).
