In 1976, the CSKA "Red Army" Moscow hockey team toured North America in one of the most highly-charged moments in the history of Cold War sports.
On January 11, they faced off against the Philadelphia Flyers after having mopped the floor with the Boston Bruins and the New York Rangers. The Flyers, known as the "Broad Street Bullies," were infamous for their aggressive style of play at the time.
